Term 2 Newsletter Week 8

We have completed the assessment of the 8 service providers who applied to lead our first every Outside School Hours Care. We will be shortlisting then interviewing ready to announce the winning provider. Term 3 will be a readiness term as we map out start date and commence taking registrations. We are tottaly excited for our families to engage with an OSHC service!

Our feedback from all participants is to select an animal or plant that is local to the Deception Bay area. To ensure that we are all well informed understanding the local area, we will be partnering with Traditional Owners who will run a series of Yarns showcasing animals and plants local to the Deception Bay area. These will be recorded and provided to parents ensuring that we have a collective understanding of when is significant ready to vote on draft designs and then looking at a 2025 logo implementation. This is a great piece of our schools development now and for the future.

Ken Blanchard said that "feedback is the breakfast of champions.” Currently our amazing teachers are engaged every week in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) exploring how they can improve their teaching practise. Our current focus is on using examples of students work to model, analyse and improve writing pieces. Our staff are doing an amazing job and continue to improve.

Our Administration team are commencing a professional reading of Heen and Stone's text "Thanks for the Feedback". We are working hard at how to seek, listen to and through and then act on "all" feedback both to improve our school and ourselves as leaders.  Please continue to provide us with feedback so we can learn how to be better leaders and in turn work together to continue enhancing our great school.
