Stage 1 - COMPLETE
Though consultation late 2023 and early 2024 our community (staff, students, families) identified a need to change our logo to reflect our community of today and into the future.
Stage 2 - COMPLETE
Consultation continued to identify overarching themes, ideas and concepts for our logo change. Overwhelmingly the response was to have an animal, plant or combination of these.
Stage 3 - COMPELTE
Research and consultation with Kabi Kabi First Nations representatives to identify cultural significant and appropriate plants, animals and objects historically connected to Deception Bay.
Stage 4
Propose items complete information about their historically and cultural connetion to First Nations peoples for families to learn and consider.
Stage 5
A survey to collect parent responses to the proposed items and drafting of logo designs.
Stage 6
Proposed final drafts to be presented to families and commnuity for their consideration and selection.
Stage 7
Phased rollout of old logo and introduction of the new logo. There will be a min of 12 months to phase the old logo out of circulation in the uniform for families to completely toll over to the new one.
