The great Helen Keller wrote " Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much!" Continuous and positive communication between home and school is key to success for everyone.

At Deception Bay State School we encourage regular in communication with class teachers and staff. Additionally parents may communicate directly with staff through email and Class Dojo.

Parent Teacher Meetings

Parents and community members are encouraged to play an active role in the education of their children. Queensland state schools value the partnership of parents in helping to enrich learning opportunities for students. Schools are required to offer a minimum of one parent teacher interview each semester. Parent-teacher interviews are a great way to establish and maintain respectful, collaborative relationships with parents and carers regarding their children's academic achievement, learning and wellbeing. (https://teach.qld.gov.au/latest-articles/top-tips-for-parent-teacher-interviews)

Teachers are required to offer face to face, teleconference or online parent teacher meetings min once per semester. There will be no "set aside" parent meeting date or time  for interviews. The interviews will be spread across the duration of the term and is at teachers individual discretion.
