Winter Weather

As the cooler weather approaches, we ask that students wear a maroon jumper to school. We also ask that all jumpers and hats are named so that they can be returned to their rightful owner.

Phonemic Awareness:

This week, I would like to share the following resource about “Phonemic Awareness". Phonemic awareness is the ability to break words up into sounds. I hope the strategies discussed in this handout can aide you in practicing these skills through everyday moments with your children at home. Just remember, these skills can occur through everyday moments for example, when driving in the car, when you are out shopping or when reading with your child/ children. Making these moments fun through games like “I Spy" and “Simon Says" that are discussed in the handout, can help these moments fun for children.

Have a great week everyone.
