Prep Oral Language Program: “Read It Again”

We are excited to inform you that from Week 6 this term, our school will be running our Prep Oral Language Program called Read It Again program again this year. This program is designed to support and strengthen your child’s oral language development.

What is “Read It Again”?

Read It Again is a research-based, evidence-informed early literacy program that focuses on building key oral language and early literacy skills in young learners. The program is delivered through engaging shared reading sessions and includes carefully designed activities that target four critical areas: vocabulary, narrative skills, print knowledge and phonological awareness.

Why is it Important?

Strong oral language skills are the foundation for successful reading, writing, and overall academic achievement. Read It Again helps ensure that children develop the language and early literacy skills they need to thrive in school and beyond.

Starting in Week 6 until the end of the year, your child will participate in two sessions per week:

  • One session will be delivered by our school’s Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
  • One session will be delivered by your child’s Classroom Teacher

If you have any questions or would like to know more about Read It Again, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the school team.

Thank you for your continued support in your child’s learning journey.

AI Project

Our amazing year 4 students have been participating in an AI research project each afternoon in the last session. During these sessions staff from QUT have been working with our students to unpack AI from a child's perspective to jointly produce a policy proposal to the Queensland Government. Representatives from the school will be attending QUT next week to finalise the proposal. We are so proud of our students and the work they have done in this space.
